Jonas Oakland is BACK!

The young pop purveyor has been bubbling under for a few years now and already enjoyed some cult success online and on a few radio stations dotted around the US, Spain, and of course his native Sweden, with his previous singles ‘Beat Of My Heart’, ‘Stay’, ‘Where I Belong’, and ‘Point Of No Return’. He also released a remix EP of ‘Beat Of My Heart’ last year too.

We’ve had a sneak peak at his release schedule for 2011, and it’s all looking quite packed, which will please his fans, and should please fans of Scandinavian dance pop in general! But before he launches the next stage of his career, he’s unleashing a brand new remix of one of his older tracks – ‘Where I Belong’. He’s worked together with trance producer Amitai Bar-Lavi, to concoct something of a more electro-fied dance sound, to bridge the gap between the old, and the forthcoming new. What they’ve come out with is one of those exciting dance tracks that manages to inject both atmosphere and electricity onto the dancefloor, with plenty of hushed and tantalising capellas, and big clubland instrumentals.

Like all of his singles, Jonas is releasing it on iTunes worldwide, so that everyone can grab it. And this gets its release next Wednesday, May 18th. Before then though, he’s kindly given scandipop.co.uk a listen, and allowed us to upload a clip to stream exclusively ahead of its release!

And here is said clip;

It’s a bit of a tease, we know, but we didn’t want to give the absolute biggest and bestest parts away!

Finally, if you weren’t around on this site a couple of years ago, we’d recommend you read our interview with Jonas Oakland – a great insight into how independent artists work and manage themselves in today’s pop climate.
