Let’s take ourselves back a month. To the Eurovision Song Contest. Remember the Norwegian entry, ‘My Heart Is Yours’ by the handsome Didrik Solli-Tangen? A celtic, ‘You Raise Me Up’ style soaring ballad with Didrik’s operatic vocals. It’s a beautiful song and was one of our favourites in the contest this year. Well…….
….now we have a hands in the air remix of it to enjoy too! Courtesy of 7th Heaven, who also did a magical remix of Agnes’ ‘On & On’ a few months back. This remix starts off a bit strange, sounding a lot like Dario G’s ‘Sunchyme’. But before you know it, you’re transported into camp euphoria – where you want all remixes to take you really! And that last key change really is something else indeed.
Here’s Didrik Solli-Tangen scrubbing up well for a new photo shoot ahead of his appearance as Norway’s representative at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
We initially thought that he was in with a very good chance of winning the competition for Norway, but unfortunately, most of the rest of the countries competing have sent a ballad to the contest too. Plus, Norway have got the draw of performing third in the final. Third of twenty five songs! Still, it’s by far one of our favourites in the contest this year.
A combination of jury and televotes decided Norway’s entry to this year’s Eurovision last night. For a full round up of all eight songs that competed, you can read our preview of the final from last week here.
Eight strong songs took part, with four being knocked out after the first round of voting – including, unfortunately, our two favourites; Venke Knutson and Alexander Stenerud. Maria Arredondo and Maria Haukaas Storeng joined them in being eliminated from the competition.
We were then left with Keep of Kasselin, Didrik Solli Tangen, a1, and Bjørn Johan Muri Juries and televoters cast their votes again, and the final result wasn’t even close – the winning song by quite a margin, and thus Norway’s entry to the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, is ‘My Heart Is Yours’, by Didrik Solli Tangen. Composed by Hanna Sorvaag and Fredrik Kempe (Fredrik being the composer of the last two Swedish entries in Eurovision) will probably go on to do very well in Eurovision. We predict a finish in the top five for Norway, for the third year in a row.

@JLucas86 A 'hit' in Sweden is too difficult to define these days! In AOB's case, it's too early to guess until seeing their promo schedule. - posted on 10/09/2010 16:20:22
