Here’s the video for the new EMD single. The cover of Eagle Eye Cherry’s ‘Save Tonight’ is set in a recording studio. A bit like McFly’s ‘All About You’, except the BBC hired comedians are replaced with serious musicians! Although there’s still a bit of dicking around in the studio by the EMD boys themselves!
It’s from their new album ‘Rewind’ (please let it include a cover of the Precious opus of the same name!) which is released in Sweden on August 25th.
Hooray! EMD’s cover of Eagle Eye Cherry’s ‘Save Tonight’ is actually pretty good. We like EMD, but when we heard that they were releasing that as their new single, we were very disappointed. We’re not a fan of the original in the slightest. But they’ve actually produced a great version of the song. It’s less guitar and more strings and piano. And of course they sound great on it.
Hmmm….we’re not a fan of the original at all. In fact we hated it first time around, thanks to it being grossly overplayed on UK radio at the time. And as much as we love EMD, we can’t really see them rescuing this. Oh well, it’s good to have them back regardless. To assist with the launch of their comeback, they’ll be hosting the opening concert of Sommarkrysset on May 15th.
Oh, and for those that didn’t know, Mattias from the band last month won the Swedish version of Dancing With The Stars – looking INSANELY hot whilst he was at it;
Now, we know that EMD have always been the epitome of cute hotness, but has there ever been a picture that’s made you want to give each of them a nice big cuddle than the one below?!
Look at that knitwear! So warm, so soft, so alluring!
ANYWAY, it’s all in aid of promoting their Christmas album that’s due out in Sweden this month. It’s a collection of well known Christmas songs, which they’ve translated to and sung in Swedish. We love how Swedish stars, and of course the record buying Swedish public, embrace the Christmas album. Last year we had albums from the mighty Charlotte Perrelli, Amy Diamond, and the holy trinity of Sanna Nielsen, Shirley Clamp, and Sonja Alden. And this year as well as EMD, there are new Christmas albums from Carola and Magnus Carlsson.
In 2010 we want a few festive offerings from Velvet, Nanne, and Lili & Susie please.
