A new outfit. That is more than likely going to lead to some good music.
That’s because Goldfinger & Script is actually made up of Anton Malmberg Hård Af Segerstad (Goldfinger) and Niclas Lundin (Script). Two Swedish songwriters that have either together or separately already written songs for lots of artists that grace the pages of scandipop.co.uk regularly or sporadically. In a nutshell: Eric Saade, Alcazar, Velvet, Le Kid, Magnus Carlsson, Molly Sandén, Infernal, Linda Sundblad, Martin Rolinski, Mimi Oh, Andreas Lundstedt, Rikke Lie, and Jenny Langlo. To name some.
They’re still doing their writing thing of course, but they’ve now decided to join together and launch an artist project – this Goldfinger & Script we speak of. Together they’ll be writing and producing the songs, and releasing them with different featured vocalists each time. And they’ve already been signed to newly established dance label Uniform Beat (who are also home to Smith & Thell who we wrote about last week), an imprint of Playground Music.
While their past scribings for other artists have mostly been undeniably and unashamedly pop, Goldfinger & Script sees Anton and Niclas head in a much more dance orientated direction. They’re flexing their creativity with clubland on their conscience. They want to make music that will make people dance. Which brings us to their first single, which you can have a listen to below. It’s called ’Dancing In My Head’ and features new popstrel Lily Minou (that surname is only two letters away from being a Minogue. We’re intrigued about her already!). ‘Dancing In My Head’ doesn’t break any mold. It simply sets out to be a floorfilling, commercial dance track, that’s going to be very easy and enjoyable to move to on a dancefloor at 1am. It succeeds.
More from Goldfinger & Script in 2012, we hope. They’re also getting into the remixing act too – and have a mix on the recent Mimi Oh single ‘Säkerhetsnål’.
