Lena Philipsson feat Dead by April: ‘Dancing In The Neon Light’

scandipop February 23, 2011 2

One of the big highlights of last weekend’s Melodifestivalen, or actually THE YEAR IN GENERAL, was the performance of ‘Dancing In The Neon Light’ by Lena Philipsson and her new boys, Dead by April. The English language, heavy metal interpretation of her 80’s schlager hit ‘Dansa I Neon’ was jaw-droppingly good. In it, she didn’t just embrace her inner rock-chick, she more or less got a couple of fingers up there as well! It was a rocked-up, head-banging, stage-strutting lesson in why Lena Philipsson is the superstar that she is, albeit it domestic. And of course at the heart of it all, was the legendary tune that is ‘Dansa I Neon’.

Brilliant!

You can watch the performance again here (along with two weekend performances of ‘Idiot’), but below, you can now hear it in its full, studio version quality. The track was released to iTunes straight after the show, and has been top 3 since Sunday night.
