Linda Sundblad: ‘Intim’

Ms Linda Sundblad announced on her blog today, totally out of the blue, that she’s all set to release her new single. And it’s here! And now!

The song is called ‘Intim’ – a Swedish language track. And while it sees Linda at least change the language in which she normally sings in, it thankfully doesn’t stray very far away from the style that we’ve all grown to know and love from her. If anything, it actually sounds like it’s getting even better, based on this new song alone!

It’s still very much a cool synth sound, bubble wrapped in a warm retro atmosphere – but this time it’s been packaged up as something a little bit more pop (although that’s in comparison to her 2010 ‘Manifest’ album of course, rather than her also very pop 2011 Melodifestivalen entry, ‘Lucky You’). ‘Intim’ definitely has a more commercial heart than some of the stuff on her last album. And it’s actually quite, dare we say it, Kylie?!…

She wrote on her blog that she’s more excited to write and sing in Swedish, as she can be more expressive. And we certainly admire her for following her heart and making such a choice – a brave one for an artist who genuinely could be so close to international success.

Here is ‘Intim’, in all its quite considerable glory;

    Close/intimate?

    Honestly, she’s just amazing in short isn’t she? I am loving this: very impressive and the Swedish tongue is always exciting (etc!).
