Kärlek

A good album opener, as it’s the perfect indication as to what the listener can expect over the next 45 minutes – perfectly pleasant sounding, non offensive, bright and breezy pop music. Delivered by an angelic voice, and with the occasional key change thrown in! This song sees Molly have a go at the sixties pastiche sound that’s been so popular in Europe over the last couple of years – and this is a nice addition to the genre.

Hallelujah

Yes, it’s her cover of the Leonard Cohen/Jeff Buckley/Alexandra Burke track. Her version stays closest to Alexandra’s, but is sung in Swedish. At the start of the song, during the first few verses, we actually preferred Molly’s version – her voice suits the softly sang approach. However, at the end when arms in the air wails are required, Molly holds back on us, which is disappointing.

Säg Att Det Är Regn

A guitar based mid tempo ballad. Really nice melodies in the verse and chorus. This has a hint of the ‘Swedish Shania Twain’ about it, there are slight country twangs to it. Our favourite part is the middle eight leading up to the last chorus.

Så Vill Stjärnorna

You should all know this one by now. Molly’s beautiful Melodifestivalen entry. We still absolutely adore this three months later.

Fånga En Sommar

In the same vein as the album opener, this is more sixties fun that wouldn’t have sounded out of place on the last Lena & Orup album. 5 songs in, and we’ve had 5 key changes! This is wonderful stuff!

Skör Som Glas

Possibly the best song on the album. A high calibre schlager ballad that suits Molly really well. Everything about this sounds right. The fact that this doesn’t even have a key change yet is still our favourite on the album, speaks volumes!

Det Är Inte Jag

An uptempo electro rock number that surprised a bit when it first started – but once the chorus came, we knew it was the Molly we loved back again. We’d love to see her perform this live! It’s a bit Kelly Clarkson. Very anthemic.

Stanna Kvar

Ooh a nice dramatic intro! This is another beautiful ballad – Molly doing what Molly doing best. The second verse introduces a sort of subtle marching drum beat which sounds good. And we love how she has no hesitations at really letting rip during the last minute – why couldn’t she have done that for ‘Hallelujah’?!

Lova Mig

Another dramatic intro, and straight away you know this isn’t going to be the happiest three minutes on the albums! It’s some of the best three minutes however. A really sad, mournful ballad – and if we understood Swedish, then there’d probably be tears. The chorus is absolutely stunning, but sounds very familiar. Is it a cover?

Samma Himmel

Sounds a lot like ‘Se Pa Mig’! Another schlager ballad laced with charm. This has the best key change out of all the tracks on the album! She’d better get a few club remixes of these out so that we can start playing them at the scandipop club night!

Mitt Liv Är Mitt

We think that Kelly Clarkson might want her song back.

Gabriellas Sång

We were looking forward to this as soon as we saw it on the tracklisting. It’s a classic! And Molly (thankfully) more than does it justice. It’s even better than her cover of ‘Hallelujah’! And a wonderful way to end a great album!

Good on ya Molly! We knew you had it in you!
