The annual Musikhjälpen lark has started up again in Sweden and will be running for the next week. For the uninitiated amongst you, Musikhjälpen is a sort of telethon thing. Charity through music. So basically Gina Dirawi camps out in a big glass box in Gothenburg for a week, is sporadically joined by music guests, and then viewers phone or SMS in with monetary donations. Something like that. It’s all very good. And every year Swedes display an enormous amount of generosity for the whole thing, which is great. This year there are also some music related auctions going on. With prizes such as Eurovision tickets, Melodifestivalen tickets, dinner with Carola (seriously!) on offer. It’s amazing.
On Scandipop, we’ll be covering the best of the pop performances. Of course we will.
This year, they’re gonna have the likes of Loreen, Eric Saade, Agnes, Danny Saucedo, Sarah Dawn Finer, Amanda Jenssen, Tove Lo, Numera, Linnea Henriksson, etc etc all performing. See the full timetable here.
It all kicked off last night, and so here we have the first musical guest for your interest. Miss Tove Lo. You may remember we wrote an introductory post about her a few months back. And she’s since then released her first single and video ‘Love Ballad‘. Last night Tove performed both ‘Love Ballad’ and the even better ‘Paradise’. And you can watch below.
