Navet

Debut single and video from a new female fronted Swedish electropop act. *ears prick up*

Navet (or Julia Ögren, Josef Hermansson and Anders Ahlin, as they’re known to their nearest and dearest) present ‘One Hundred Years, Ten Thousand Beats’ as their foray into pop music. It’s an 80s flavoured amalgamation of lots of intricate and amazing synths, riffs, beeps, and stabs. Which translates into a pretty good song while it’s at it. It would have made a really first album era Girls Aloud track.

Best bits: those guitar riffs that appear in each of the verses.

The single was produced with Mats Norman from Lilla Sällskapet. He deserves a mention, because it’s that production which is the breakout star of the three minutes and fourteen seconds.
