One of our favourite music making ladies from the Nordic lands is re-releasing her 2011 album, and with it comes a brand new song which is in turn a brand new single.
The music making lady in question is Oh Land, and the new single is ‘Speak Out Now’. And as if to counteract the large proportion of (stunningly beautiful) down-tempo ‘jams’ on her album, ‘Speak Out Now’ is a pert and perky number, intent on awakening the listener from the dreamy electronic haze it might have otherwise fallen blissfully into to after listening to the rest of her record. But at the same time, it won’t feel too out of place on the re-issue – it sounds like the more mature sister to ‘We Turn It Up’.
Charmingly upbeat and joyful – we’ve found it to be the ideal remedy to dark and grey December mornings. So thank you for that, Oh Land.
