Petra Marklund: ‘Händerna Mot Himlen’ (premiere)

scandipop September 10, 2012 26

Today marks the return of Petra Marklund. Dropping her famous September moniker, she’s unveiling her brand new single ‘Händerna Mot Himlen’. And she’s premiering it right here on scandipop.co.uk.

‘Händerna Mot Himlen’ is the first single from Petra Marklund’s new album ‘Inferno’, which comes out on October 17th. Although the single itself is going to be released a lot sooner – this Friday in fact. It’s also the first taste of her new re-invention since her days as September – so there’s a lot of expectant eyes and ears upon this one. And we don’t think that many are going to be disappointed. ‘Händerna Mot Himlen’ is a strong comeback. Or perhaps we should be saying a strong introduction?….

Anyway, we’ve already scribed the merits and our thoughts on the song in great detail here, so let’s just cut to the chase.

Here’s Petra Marklund’s ‘Händerna Mot Himlen’;

    It is sounds like another Petra’s interpretation from the Så mycket bättre. Guaranteed Success!….This cover of the single is pretty lame.

    I’m Swedish so I translated it for you guys. :) Such a beautiful but sad song…

    (Verse 1) Do you think you and I will see each other again? Do you think you and I have a future together? Do you think you and I will live a long time? I don’t think so.
    Do you think you and I will remember that night? Do you think you and I will dream our way back? Do you think we’ll live happily ever after if we’ll never see each other again?

    (Chorus) Hands up in the air, face against the bar. Now we blow the roofs of. We end up in heaven where angels are crying. The city is awake, all is forgiven honey. Put your hands up in the air, we’ll get drunk, life is meaningless. Who cares, the night is beautiful, you are like the night, and I’m a winner again.

    (Verse 2) Do you think that you and I will win this race? Do you think that you and I have a chance against the others?
    I wish that I could rely on something more then just the feeling that everything is already too late.

    (Chorus)Hands up in the air, face against the bar. Now we blow the roofs of. We end up in heaven where angels are crying. The city is awake, all is forgiven honey. Put your hands up in the air, we’ll get drunk, life is meaningless. Who cares, the night is beautiful, you are like the night, and I’m a winner again.

    It sounds massive! Great job Petra! Petra is one of the reasons why I love music from Sweden so much. Even though my Swedish isn’t good, I really like music in Swedish language.
