Swedish girlband, Play, are back in the US. They had a few minor hits over there at the start of the last decade, as well as a relatively successful album, plus a Christmas album! And now they’re releasing a brand new single called ‘Destiny’. It’s the theme tune to the new Disney film, Avalon High. And Disney radio in the US played it for the first time this week, with the girls in the studio to introduce it.
And oh my word, it’s just BEAUTIFUL! Totally what you would expect from a Disney ballad. Lyrically inspirational, and dripping with gorgeous melodies. The chorus is divine. Very catchy, and a rather nice soundtrack to these Winter nights that are drawing in.
it’s actually quite lovely. and it has a key change, so i’m predisposed to adore it!
they’ve actually had 6 albums. Two of which, PLAY and Replay (both with Fanny), went gold in the US. =)
PS thanks for posting my youtube video! and youre right, the song is a very good ballad, even if Fanny is not in it and its only Anaïs and Sanne. she has been “MIA” for two months now and Anaïs and Sanne are allowed to say very little (only that she is taking time off and not sick. =/
Well yes, I knew they had more albums in Sweden, but I was really referring to their ‘hit’ album in the US. I didn’t know about Fanny though, thanks for the news!
