Holy Christ, how’s this for some POP?!
Smith & Thell spent a large part of last year holed up in the studio and honing their craft. Sporadically uploading the fruits of their labour online, and teasing us as to what they were capable of. We scribed a great deal about many of these tracks here. Well it seems like teasing is exactly what they were doing. As today they unveiled their first PROPER single, which will be released on new Swedish dance and electro label Uniform Beat, part of Playground Music (more info on the exciting sounding new label here.
And it doesn’t even compare to what went before. Previous songs were very good, but this……THIS….is amazing!
It’s called ‘Kill It With Love’ and it’s their most poptastic output to date. Big on the pop, yes, but even bigger on a sound that seems to pay homage to 90′s UK house music. It’s got a big piano house riff running through it, much to our delight. It’s all very uplifting, arms-aloft, hands-in-the-air, eyes-rolled-back-in-your-head…….that sort of thing, y’know.

In a few days a listend for more than 40 times to this song. It’s still great!!!!
