The 2012 Scandipop Awards: The nominations!

scandipop December 16, 2011 75

We’ve stopped. We’ve looked back through the year. And we’ve taken stock of everything that has happened in Scandinavian pop music in 2011. And so now it’s time for us to recognise what we feel was the absolute best.

Which means – it’s the 4th annual Scandipop Awards!

17 categories that feature the names of what we think were the best songs, albums, and artists of the year. And in early January we’ll be deciding and announcing the winners.

However, we’ve also introduced a new 18th category. And this category is the first time that readers of this website will be able to vote and decide the winner. A sort of ‘people’s choice award’, if you will. The nominations and details on how to vote are at the bottom of this article.

Now then. The nominations!

    COME ON MARTIN ROLINSKI!

Would have preferred Lucky Star to have been nominated rather than Everybody Dance by Gravitonas but they’re both good.

    Sure this isn’t the nominations for some Swedish grammy award or something. There’s (almost) just Swedish songs here ;;

  16. Fabio January 1, 2012 at 10:53 am -

I find quite ridiculous that Roxette didn’t get a single nomination here. Charm School was a #1 album in Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Argentina. The lead single was a hit in Central Europe. And in top of that, they gave almost 80 concerts this year, everywhere from Russia to Brazil, Dubai, South Africa, England, Germany, Argentina, Uruguay… Many of them sold out due to the high demand. And the tour goes on in 2012… For example, there are 10 concerts scheduled for Australia in February. And you list Megalomania by Aqua… I can’t deny it’s a nice album but it didn’t get a worldwide released. I find this kinda unfair.

Timoteij must be no.1, I don’t even know what any of the other songs sound like as I listen to Timoteij day and night ;-)

Best Male singer: ERIC SAADE!! <3 :D \

    Best album: Saade Vol. 2!!!

Best of the best best best: ERIC SAADE GODDAMMIT!!

  21. John January 20, 2012 at 10:16 am -

    I will say S & T for the brightest hope !!!!!!!

  22. Linni April 18, 2012 at 5:50 pm -

Martin Rolinski is better than them all. Deesrves more recognition especially out of Sweden!!

  23. Jonny April 23, 2012 at 8:24 am -

    My god. It’s unbelievable.

So Saade’s kindergarten-pop CD:s volume 1 and 2 are better than Ulrik Munthers’s debute. Insane.

What’s wrong with people? Ulrik must be the most underrated Swedish artist for adges.

When I see him perform The Box live, and then see Danny or Saade jump around, I can’t do anything else but laugh.
