An all too rare post about some pop music from Iceland now – Thorunn Antonia and her new single ‘So High’.
We discovered this one on the advice of Olivier from the Scandipop Facebook forum (you can request to join in on the chatter here). A quick browse through Thorunn’s own Facebook page tells us that she used to be all indie and stuff, but is now treading the pop path. Praise the Lord for another one seeing the light.
In fact, she describes her new sound as Kylie Minogue meets Stevie Nicks. And we love that about her already.
New single ‘So High’ is a retro flavoured Italo Disco jaunt. A chugging beat captures you from the offset, and that chorus is exceptionally brill. We also love her vocal. All in all it’s a pretty great package. One to press repeat on.
