After the overwhelmingly positive response towards the acoustic performance of ‘Stay’ that Tooji did on Senkveld a few weeks back (our post alone got over 1,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook!), the man himself has done the decent thing and recorded a studio version of the acoustic ‘Stay’. And yesterday he released the new version onto iTunes and Spotify (worldwide, we believe), AND released a little video for it too.
You know what’s coming next don’t you?….
Yes, yes, yes – here is that very version and that very video, for your audio and visual enjoyment.
As we said before, this is one acoustic reimagining that works fantastically well – giving the dance song a great new dimension to be appreciated.

I think I almost prefer this stripped back version to the original.
I don’t know who started the rule that all these Melodi(festivalen) contestants have to do acoustic versions, but I think it is a spectacularly played out move. And I think it only serves to expose the vapidness of the lyrics more.
Let’s be clear, I love vapid lyrics, but I think slowing down a song to make it feel emotional is pretty cheap.
I love this version!!!! I lovd it when the artists do an acoustic version, you can actually HEAR their voice properly. If anyone had any doubts on toojis kive vocals, they most definately wont have any after listening to this!!!!
But i still think his live performance is like a copy of ERIC SAADE, the dancing, style and stuff. Oh well, if he gets far in eurovision, its cuz of eric saade for s;-)ure!!! <3
