One of the most consistently good poppets to come out of Norway in recent years has been the ravishingly pretty Tone Damli (she’s now dropped the Aaberge part of her surname). Most will know her from her song ‘Butterflies’ (which even got a UK release last year, albeit an unsuccessful one), which came second to Alexander Rybak’s ‘Fairytale’ in Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2009. Although it seems a lot longer ago that that. Since then she’s kept us going with pop gems such as ‘I Love You’, ‘Crazy Cool’, and to a lesser extent, her current Norwegian single, ‘Stuck In My Head’.

She’s just released her most recent album in Norway, ‘Cocool’ (!!!) and the next single from it is a huge return to form for her. ‘No Way Out’ is probably the closest thing she’s done to ‘Butterflies’ – guitar flavoured pop with a rousing chorus. It’s got a beautiful piano melody to it going all the way through, and as with her previous singles, a string section is high in the mix too. Also, we love the repetition used in the choruse – ‘’no way out…out…out……out’’.

Keep doing what you’re doing, Tone, we love it! And the song has already started creeping up the Swedish iTunes chart too.
