We have our 32 artists and songs that will be competing in Melodifestivalen 2012!
SVT held the second press conference this morning to announce the names of the artists in heats 3 and 4. Some big debutantes, some old favourites, and some young blood (quite literally – new boyband YoungBlood!). And we’ve now got so many of our personal favourite artists that we’re rooting for, that it’s logistically impossible for all of them to progress from their heats into the final. And even moving away from the artists that we like, there are some other really big names that are clearly going to draw huge amounts of votes their way.
So in some ways we’ve already commenced preparing ourselves for some major disappointments when those results are read out each Saturday night next February. But to take a more positive spin on things, we’ve also prepared ourselves for what’s in all probability going to be a hugely enjoyable six weeks of music and entertainment. And of course beyond that, there’s a whole troupe of great artists that are going to be releasing new music in that months after the contest.
