We LOVE LOVE LOVE this new single that was released in Sweden last week. ‘Do It’ by Swedish artist Ace Wilder.
It’s a great big pop track, with flavours of electro and rock. ‘Do It’ contains a great deal of shouting, an intrusive yet acceptable serving of ‘attitude’, and a brilliant melody. And it’s got a poppy post-chorus to hammer home the point too. We’re calling this a cross between recent Scandipop favourites Icona Pop and Alex Saidac. And it’s produced by Finnish producer JS16, who has also worked with September, Ola, Pandora, Darude, and Bomfunk MCs (love a bit of ‘Freestyler’, don’t you?!) amongst many others.
Not TOO much is known about Ace Wilder. She’s Swedish, she grew up in Florida, and now she’s back in Sweden as it’s clearly the best place to make pop music. Good girl. This whole cartoon character thing is just for the benefit of the (actually very good) lyric video. A proper music video is being recorded for the single later this month, in which Ace Wilder will be revealed in all her glory.
