As we all know by now, Melodifestivalen 2011 will play host to a musical comeback that many Swedes have been awaiting for quite some time – the return of Dilba!

She’ll be competing in the first heat in Luleå, in the first Saturday in February, with the song ‘Try Again’. It’s a huge dance pop number, and therefore a big departure from her previous musical output which was in a more downtempo singer/songwriter style. And she’s going to be playing the role of Club Queen for quite a while too, not just for the Melodifestivalen stage – she’s currently working on a brand new album with a dance/club feel which will be released after the contest.

So, by way of reintroduction as an artist, and also by way of introduction as a new dance artist, Dilba releases a new single next Wednesday, December 21st. It’s a remix of her biggest hit from the 90’s, ‘I’m Sorry’. That song (which you can listen to here in original form) was Dilba’s breakthrough, with the single staying on the Swedish singles chart for 30 weeks straight and placing Dilba in the hearts of Sweden. This self penned song was the lead single from the first album, ‘Dilba’, which went on to earn her a Swedish Grammy and a Rockbjörn Award.

Credited as Deejay Jay Vs Dilba, ‘I’m Sorry’ 2010 is a pure dance makeover in the style of turn of the century Balearic beats from commercial clubdom in Ibiza! All souped up to a 2010 sound of course. Think Inna’s ‘Hot’, it’s in a similar style to that. It’s trancey and laidback, rather than uplifting euphoria. And her vocals sound fantastic against the dance beat backdrop. It’s a song you can lose yourself in, and we’ve been doing that with it absentmindedly quite a lot this week!

‘I’m Sorry’ 2010 will be released on iTunes not just in Sweden, but all over the world next Wednesday, so you’ll be able to get your hands on it wherever you are then. HOWEVER, ahead of its release to iTunes and to radio, Dilba has given scandipop.co.uk the exclusive first right to stream a clip of it, so you can take a listen below!
