Eurovision winner (amazing!) Emmelie de Forest has finally confirmed what the second single from her album will be. And it’s ‘Hunter & Prey’. Well, actually she confirmed it to us about a month ago on the phone, but her label said that they still weren’t sure. But that’s fine.
As with the rest of the album, ‘Hunter & Prey’ sounds like its from the same sonic family as ‘Only Teardrops’. And that’s what we love about the album – anyone lured in by the big hit won’t be disappointed, it’s not a novelty on there. ‘Hunter & Prey’ is ethnic and earthy, but not without its commercial pop sheen. The melody is all there, and is best sang along to accompanied by your own interpretation of her own folky vocal riff “ee-ye, ee-ye” thing that she does.
The single will be released on July 12th. It’s been taken from her ‘Only Teardrops’ album, which you can pick up on CD from our store.
Oh and look – here she is performing the song live on Danish TV.
