Honorary scandipop starlet  Helena Paparizou (she’s half-Swedish you know!) has returned with a new single – ‘Mr Perfect’.

2011 was the year of her genuinely quite stellar Greatest Hits album, and with that we got two new songs earlier this year – ‘Baby It’s Over’ and ‘Love Me Crazy’. Right now in her native Greece she’s back in the spotlight as a judge on the Greek version of Dancing On Ice. And so she’s decided to unleash another single.

It’s ‘Mr Perfect’ – an uptempo pop number much in the same vein as ‘Baby It’s Over’. It’s got a turbo powered treble and a big pumped up bass – the sort of frenzied chorus that hits you in the face (ooh look at us, writing rhyming couplets for song reviews!). Speaking of rhymes, we love her lyric “I don’t think I’m asking much, acting like I’m talking dutch, I’m just thinking what’s the rush“. But it’s the chorus that really leaves an impression here. Special mention should also go to the extended middle eight, which stops where you expect it to – and then continues a little while longer.
