Peter Jöback is putting out a concept album next month. He’s taken after Belinda Carlisle and decided to go all French on us. ‘Livet, Kärleken och Döden’ is the title of the album out on October 19th, and it’s a collection of French songs that have been covered and translated into Swedish. Amongst the covers, there are also three brand new Swedish language tracks which will be “written in a French style”. And it’s one of those new songs that is the album’s lead single.
‘Jag Har Dig Nu’ (‘I Have You Now’) is a duet with the singer Izabella Scorupco – Polish born, raised in Sweden, and as well as being a singer in the early 90’s, she’s also famous for playing a Bond Girl in the Goldeneye film. The single is released on October 7th, but you can have a listen in full below.
We love it! It’s certainly in keeping with Izabella’s acting past, in that it sounds like it could be a James Bond theme song. Sweeping strings, dramatic chords, and a feverish passion in Jöback’s vocal. It’s all very theatrical, which Peter always sounds most at home with. And we like Izabella’s French speaking parts too. This is big budget soundtrack fare!
