It’s been a while since we last heard from Icelandic pop gent Daniel Oliver. As part of the group CADEM we obvs had the awesome ‘Fly‘ a couple of years back. But as a soloist, his last release was ‘DJ Blow My Speakers‘ as far back as 2012. Later in the month, he’s launching his big pop comeback with new single ‘Got My Number’. We’ve heard it – it’s incredible. Until then though, he’s gifting pop fans with the special one-off release of a track he’s written and recorded in his native Icelandic. ‘Vertu Hjá Mér’ gives a hint of how his sound has matured in the last five years (though doesn’t give too much away in terms of what you can expect with ‘Got My Number’….). And serves as a well-crafted and expertly produced re-introduction to one of Iceland’s bestest pop offerings of the past decade. Written by Daniel himself along with Jimmy Åkerfors.
You can find ‘Vertu Hjá Mér’ on our Best New Pop playlist.
