What’s it like? A pleasingly melodic pop song that manages to be super-sweet despite its lyrics of loss and lament, such is the upbeat nature of the other elements of the song.
What does Julia say? “‘Things We Never Had’ is a story about what happened to me. It is my truth, as I experienced it. It’s about when love disappears and it is no longer what it once was. It describes the first feeling that strikes one at the time of a break-up. When I realised that all the dreams and hopes I had will never come true.”
