Oh I like this song! We’ve been hammering it for the past few months, since its release in September. As has Swedish radio. Swedish songwriter Linnea Södahl has scored a massive hit with the first release under her new moniker, Nea – debut single and video ‘Some Say’. And now she’s recruited Felix Jaehn to provide a fresh new mix of it.
What’s it like? A whole new life has been breathed into the song, without losing any of the charms of the original. And four months on from its first release, it’s now time to enjoy it all over again for everything that it is. That being a super-sweet pop ditty that’s catchy as sin – namely because of the melody it borrows from Eiffel 65’s monster late-’90s hit.
What does Nea say? “We wrote the song after a conversation with a friend of ours. He is gay and is in love with his friend, but this friend is in a straight relationship. The song is about love that you can’t attain but that you can’t give up on.”
More from Nea? She’s previously written tunes for Amanda Fondell, GRANT, SHY Martin, Linnea Henriksson and Zara Larsson – most notably, Zara’s biggest hit to date, ‘Lush Life’.
