Swedish singer Thomas Stenström this week uploaded some new music to his Soundcloud page. It’s the first song from his forthcoming album which he’s planning on releasing in 2014. And he’s played a blinder in getting people interested;
a) It’s a very good song
b) He’s got Frida Sundemo to feature on it.
It’s ‘Fåglar’. A minimal, ghostly ballad with a vocal delivery that’s perfectly underplayed by the two of them. It’s pretty gorgeous. And despite its softness, still manages to sound somewhat epic. That and its quiet drama allow the song to sound film score-esque. And we always like a pop song that can double up as a cinematic film score. It gives the chills.
No word yet on when it’s getting released commercially, but you can listen to it in full here;
