Well it’s been a while! Right? She goes and releases one of our favourite songs of 2016, with ‘Wasted‘. And then nothing. But Swedish artist Melanie Wehbe is back today with her new single ‘Make Room’. The studio video for which she released over the weekend.
What does Melanie say? “The song is about having the feeling that the one you love won’t be able to love you back as they loved someone else before”.
What does Scandipop say? A gorgeous synth ballad that simultaneously tugs on the heart strings, while also delivering a magical production to get lost in. Melanie’s vocal is incredibly sincere.
Written by? Melanie herself, along with Patrik Jean and Helmer Norrby. Helmer also produced it, with additional production from Elias Näslin.
And so what HAS she been up to all this time? Well in fairness she has co-written one of the biggest radio and streaming hits in Sweden of the past few months, ‘Treading Water‘ by Chris Kläfford. Plus, she co-wrote the song that Mariette should have held back for Melodifestivalen 2018, ‘Louder‘.

You can find ‘Make Room’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
